3D Secure is a security mechanism for online payments that verifies the true cardholder is the one initiating a transaction. This means you can use your YouTrip card at retailers that require 3DS authentication — whether authorisation is needed depends on the merchant or website you're paying through.
How does 3DS work?
When you enter your YouTrip card details (PAN, expiry date, CVV) for an online purchase, an authentication prompt will appear on the merchant's site. You can only complete this authentication through the YouTrip app.
Here's what to do:
- Open the app when you receive a push notification prompting you to authorise a payment (or a non-payment action, such as adding a card).
- Tap the notification and log in.
- Review the details in the 3DS verification pop-up, including the amount (if applicable) and merchant information.
- Confirm or reject — slide to authenticate, or tap ""Reject"" to cancel.
Once authentication is complete, return to the merchant's website to finish reviewing your transaction.
